Governance roles in other schools
Why did you become a Governor? I am passionate about young people being given the best possible opportunities to succeed.  I have worked closely with Albright in my current role and I truly value the incredible work that they do.  It seemed like a wonderful opportunity to support the young people, families and staff that use the Centre. To be the representative for all staff at Albright Education Centre. I was interested in pursuing a voluntary role that would combine my experience in health and education while allowing me to develop my skills in governance.

To support the Centre.

I believe that my experience of the leadership at Q3 Tipton would help me to contribute positively to the governing body of Albright Education Centre.  I have a good understanding of our local community which could potentially be beneficial for the leadership of Albright.   Passionate about supporting other parents with children with additional needs as I have personal experience in and a child in the school. My broad experience and the resultant challenges that I have had to manage, particularly in relation to supporting those most vulnerable pupils and families encouraged me to apply to support Albright as a governor.  I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to support such an excellent and much-needed provision in the borough.
Any special interests / hobbies / relevant experience? am a keen sports fan although I'd perhaps better not mention my team!

Teacher.

Previous parent governor at another local authority school.

I am chair of the executive committee of a large Scout group in Wolverhampton where my three children are members.

Teacher

Head Teacher

18 years leadership experience

Sport   Sport and reading

I have strong working relationships with a range of colleagues in pastoral leadership across the borough.  I am an active member of Sandwell Fair Access Panel and have supported a range of multi-agency initiatives across the borough, best practice sessions and smaller working groups to support inclusions across Sandwell.

How can you help the Centre?

I can help by bringing the perspective of a local school that work with Albright.  I also attend meetings with Sandwell schools every three weeks and can add that perspective to discussions.

Provide the link between staff and governors and provide information and advice from a teaching perspective. I can provide advice and support in relation to health issues that concern the school.

Experience of educational issues.

I have the interests of Albright Education Centre very much at heart and would like to be involved in the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, in whatever ways are helpful to the school community and I feel that I have the expertise and experience to enhance Albright's Governing Body.   To give a voice of parents.

I believe the skills acquired and the relationships built will be a real asset for Albright and will stand me in good stead to support the governance team.
